it's summer

there's always a light on somewhere

Sunset: 5:56 p.m. EST

Getting dark early now. This weekend we roll the clocks back and lose even more light.

Robyn Hitchcock is playing tonight and I'll be just down the road.

I may pop in for the show, may just drink my way by it. Only a month ago we stood in the alley behind the Cradle and talked. It wasn't a long or enlightening conversation but then we were both tired and more than a little thirsty.

And he had cheese on the brain, and Gene Hackman.

He seemed surprised I remembered the "Soft Boys" and I said he'd gotten big around the middle.

*grin*

Tonight I've nothing to report. No ideas to share. No stories to tell. But I did feel like sharing one of those songs that come only once in awhile. And while I drive down a dark Hwy 54 tonight dodging in and out of the fog, listening to Killing Joke with the windows down in the 30 degree temp, I want to leave you with something a little more soothing.

Drink deep and sleep well.
